MTL Inc. has signed a global reselling agreement with Relcom Inc., a well-known provider of Fieldbus wiring blocks, power conditioners and test equipment. We will be offering Relcom's full line of Fieldbus devices.
These products have been marketed directly by Relcom in the past and have become the leading junction box-based wiring solution for Fieldbus.
The product line offers:
Simple field wiring for FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 and Profibus PA network segments
SpurGuards protect segments from failures due to short circuits
DIN rail mounted, modular, compact and scalable
Spurs, Expanders, TI Terminator, and SpurGuards are certified by CSA
Test equipment for network installation and troubleshooting
For plant engineers who are just getting started with Fieldbus, the FCS-Labkit series provides a simple, compact, and economical system. It provides conditioned DC power, two terminators, and connections for a host system and a up to three field transmitters for testing, training, device configuration, and product development, on a desktop scale.
The FBT-series of test equipment consists of three hand held devices that allow field personnel to perform a variety of physical layer tests to troubleshoot and commission networks. To commission or troubleshoot a 4-20mA loop the instrument technician requires a multimeter. To commission or troubleshoot a FOUNDATION Fieldbus segment the instrument technician requires specialized Fieldbus test equipment, such as the Relcom Fieldbus Monitor, FBT-3.

Weed Fiber-Optics is now offering UL-approved Class I, Div. 2 (Non-Incendive) rated Switched Media Converters and Switches (hubs) to extend Ethernet into or through hazardous rated areas. The EOTec 2000 Series Switched Media Converters and Switches allow you to easily implement an Ethernet 'trunk line'. By simply cascading a pair of converters on a DIN-rail and supplying 24VDC external power, you can go in and out of a 'drop' location with fiber-optic cable, running at 100 MHz, and 'pick-up' two 10/100 Ethernet devices at each location. Because they are actually Ethernet Switches, this scheme can be duplicated many times without the need for repeaters.
